Cuz I'm young and I'm black and my hat's real low, do I look like a mind reader sir, I don't know...

Oh man. So about me not blogging. Um, sorry? A lot has happened in the two weeks or so (I think) since I last posted something here, and I know my dozens of readers (I'm lucky if I get like four people to check this thing regularly, oh well) are itching to know what's going on. Here's the breakdown in list form (I do love my lists...)

-I "met" a really kickass girl at work. She worked there for a while but I never talked to her until the beginning of the summer, but I started and I'm really glad I did because we've been going out for two weeks and it's been great. Yeah, I know, two weeks is nothing, but I absolutely love hanging out with her. The only problem is that I'm not sure what she's doing with a dork like me, because she's incredible. Time will tell... I tend to be very cautious when it comes to relationships, and I don't assume anything about the state of affairs, since I've been burned by assumption in the past. I got something of a bombshell from her today, I won't go into it because you people really don't need to know, but I really want to talk to her soon about it because I think I might be reading too much into what she said. Hopefully we can get together tomorrow so I can get this huge weight off my chest.

-I've been watching a LOT of movies lately, although most of them have been largely forgettable. Batman Begins is incredible, Christian Bale is now officially in my top three actors along with Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. Oh, they're so dreamy! Lawrence of Arabia was also very good. I watched Before Sunrise last night and was blown away by the chemistry of the two leads and the great script. If you're not afraid of "chick flicks" and appreciate a well written and well acted movie, check it out. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle is another good one, very funny and the two guys who play the main characters deserve a lot more acting work.

-I've been reading a lot lately too. The lack of high speed internet really forces one to absorb some culture every once in a while. I read Lullaby and Choke by Chuck Palahniuk in three days and both are excellent, as long as you don't have a heart condition, are pregnant, or are easily grossed out and/or offended. Choke is especially good, probably the best book by Palahniuk I've read.

-Work. 'nuff said.

Some new bands I've gotten into: Isadora, Gatsby's American Dream, and Anberlin. Check them out if you're into what the kids are calling "emo" nowadays. Great guitar work and vocals.

That's really it for now. My life is boring, and so's yours most likely, so I shall let you get back to it! Laters.

Behind the boathouse, I'll show you my dark secret...

Another week, another post. Obviously I haven't been all that active blogging, but being at home is like being behind a slow car in the fast lane.

I bought some New Glarus Black Wheat the other day (Well, actually my mom did, but I picked it out. How cool is that, my mom buys me beer. I love you mom!). It's really effing good. Solid black, like Guinness, but not as thick. It has a sweet aftertaste, really good. Not a chugging beer though, take it easy with this one.

Ummm... planning a lake trail walk w/ Megan someday soon. I've never done it but have always wanted to. It's a full day of nothing but walking. Good thing I bought new shoes recently!

Got outside yesterday and the day before and did some gardening and lawn mowing. It was good to get some sun, I'm as pale as white boys get and that needs to change this summer.

Spent a good three hours making minestrone today, I have a 3 gallonish pot full of the stuff and it's amazing. Last night I made marinara penne, which we'll be eating tonight with salad and garlic bread. I really enjoy cooking, I just hope that doesn't change if/when I get married. Speaking of...

I'm sure everyone thinks this at least once, but I'm gonna put it out there to get brains working: I do NOT want to turn into my parents. I say that now and think I'm going to be active on my days off/after work instead of watching tv for hours like my stepdad did, but it might turn out to be inevitable. Maybe that's just what married people do, like getting married and having kids just saps you of all your extra strength. I hope it isn't the case, only time will tell...

Today is the last day of a three day no work weekend for me, needless to say I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow (am I crazy? probably). That's it for me, take it easy.
